Q3 earnings beats drive the day's biggest single-name moves

Three company stories in this feed were read in full, and all three are pre-market surges on company-specific news rather than anything macro. Rapport Therapeutics was up 31.1% pre-open after its Phase 2 trial of RAP-219 in acute bipolar mania hit both endpoints: a 3.1-point placebo-adjusted improvement on the Young Mania Rating Scale at Week 3 (15.4-point mean reduction from baseline versus 12.3 on placebo) across 253 adults with bipolar I, plus a 0.4-point placebo-adjusted gain on the CGI-BP mania severity score. All treatment-emergent adverse events were mild or moderate, with none serious. The company has $436.1 million in cash and investments, says that funds it into the second half of 2029, plans an FDA meeting in Q1 2027 and two Phase 3 trials in the second half of 2027. Wells Fargo kept its Buy rating. The stock was quoted at $37.49 pre-market against a 52-week high of $52.93.

RTX beats and raises guidance

RTX rose 2.0% pre-open on Q3 adjusted EPS of $2.26 against a $1.78 consensus, with revenue of $25.0 billion versus $24.09 billion expected and up 11% year on year. It raised full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $7.65–$7.75 from $7.10–$7.25, a midpoint well above the $7.25 consensus, and reported a record $340 billion backlog on more than $81 billion of new commercial and defence awards. CEO Chris Calio pointed to double-digit organic sales growth in both commercial aerospace and defence. The day before, the Javelin Joint Venture with Lockheed Martin won a $215 million US Army contract for next-generation launchers. GE Aerospace and Northrop Grumman reported the same morning, and a separate headline notes Jefferies reiterating its GE Aerospace rating on a strong Q3 beat.

Halliburton tops estimates, guides to better 2027 margins

Halliburton gained 3.4% pre-open on adjusted EPS of $0.60, two cents above consensus, and revenue of $5.7 billion against $5.58 billion expected. CEO Jeff Miller said revenue beat the company's own expectations and guided to mid-single-digit revenue growth in 2027 with operating margins near 15%, roughly 200 basis points above current levels. Middle East and Asia revenue rose 8% sequentially on activity in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and the company bought back about $250 million of stock in the quarter. Jefferies has a Buy at $47, Piper Sandler Overweight at $42. The stock had been trading well below its $43.59 52-week high.

Two Cantor Fitzgerald notes, pulling opposite ways

Cantor raised Disc Medicine to a $170 target from $125, Overweight, after Phase 3 APOLLO results for bitopertin, an oral GlyT1 inhibitor, in EPP/XLP. It calls the name a Top Pick and thinks the benefit on both the surrogate marker and clinical outcomes supports traditional approval; the company aligned with the FDA at a Type A meeting and plans to resubmit its NDA before year-end. The stock has run 39% over the past week to $78.93, a $3.03 billion market cap, and other recent targets cited are Wells Fargo $124, BMO $120, H.C. Wainwright $120 and Jefferies $128. The same firm cut VinFast to $4.00 from $5.00, keeping Overweight, citing gross margin of -61% over the last twelve months, a capital need it estimates above $9 billion, and no material near-term catalysts. The shares are near a 52-week low of $2.78.

The filler

A large share of this section is routine Form 8-K and Form 4 filing stubs (Filana, Xwell, Newell, PDS Biotechnology, Suja Life, Lipocine, Genuine Parts, F.N.B., General Motors, Prudential Financial, Ciena, Launch Two Acquisition) with no body text beyond the filing notice, plus several dozen TradingView chart posts on gold, bitcoin and FX. Nothing in either group carries content worth summarising, and many Investing.com items appear twice, once on the UK site and once on the US feed.
