Brief

What this feed mostly is

Two hundred items, and the bulk of it is third-quarter earnings wire copy plus a long tail of Form 8-K and Form 144 filing notices. Nineteen were read in full, and of those, four were filing stubs with no content beyond the fact that a document was filed (Hercules Capital, CubeSmart, Weyerhaeuser 8-Ks, and a Form 144 for Penguin Solutions). The genuinely substantive reading is a block of Investing.com quarterly results summaries, which I've grouped below.

Big-tech earnings backdrop, headline only

The index and mega-cap story running through the feed is headline-level only: U.S. stocks closed lower with the Dow down 0.25%, and separate headlines say Amazon slid over 6% after hours on a quarterly results miss, Intel tanked on weak Q4 guidance after mixed Q3 results, and an IBD wrap frames Amazon and Intel as the earnings losers after Google, ServiceNow and Fortinet hit the Nasdaq. Reddit gets three or four separate items saying shares slid and that the company will test a log-in requirement as search referral traffic slows, with the CEO quoted on search referrals dropping by more than a million per week in October. Starbucks beat on sales and profit yet is noted trading lower after hours; Roblox fell on user growth and guidance; Pinterest fell on a revenue miss; Twilio beat but fell on slowing organic growth; Coinbase posted a quarterly profit on lower expenses; Rivian beat and raised guidance on R2; Dexcom beat with revenue up 11%; Strategy posted record profit on bitcoin gains but fell on a revenue miss. I've only got the headlines on all of those.

FMC collapse is the single worst number in the feed

FMC reported Q3 EPS of minus $4.41 against a $0.07 estimate, a $4.48 miss, on revenue of $105.6 million versus consensus of $604.67 million. Guidance went with it: full-year 2026 EPS of minus $3.66 to minus $3.50 against a consensus of positive $1.20, and full-year revenue of $2.75 to $2.85 billion versus $3.26 billion expected. Q4 is guided to $0.56-$0.70 EPS against $0.94 consensus. The stock closed at $4.75, down 55.65% over three months and 69.41% over twelve, with seven negative EPS revisions and none positive in the prior 90 days. The article gives no explanation for the revenue shortfall or the loss.

Other full-text misses

PTC Therapeutics missed by $0.92, posting minus $0.62 against a $0.30 estimate, though revenue of $357.8 million beat the $304.05 million consensus and full-year revenue guidance of $1.29-$1.32 billion was raised above the $1.25 billion consensus. Pebblebrook Hotel also had the loss-with-revenue-beat shape: minus $0.56 versus a penny expected, on $402.74 million against $387.28 million, with the stock up 103% over twelve months. OFS Capital reported minus $0.86 against $0.07 on revenue of $5.94 million versus $6.59 million. PennyMac Financial earned $1.05 against $1.26 on revenue of $548 million that topped the $530.82 million consensus, with six negative EPS revisions in the prior 90 days and the shares down 48.6% over a year. None of these articles offer a cause.

Narrow industrial and utility misses

MasTec missed by a penny at $2.96 on revenue of $5.15 billion against $4.94 billion expected, and guided full-year EPS to $8.92-$9.30 versus $9.27 consensus on revenue of $18.30 billion against $18.19 billion; the shares are down 32.41% over three months. Edison came in at $1.92 against $1.98 on revenue of $4.89 billion versus $5.34 billion, with full-year EPS guidance of $5.90-$6.20 straddling the $6.12 consensus. Eastman Chemical missed by $0.10 at $1.84 on $2.39 billion against $2.41 billion. Olin missed by $0.02 at $0.13 on $1.75 billion against $1.83 billion. NPK International missed by $0.03 at $0.09 and cut full-year revenue to $300-$305 million against a $319.7 million consensus. Financial Institutions missed by $0.06 at $0.99 on $64.75 million versus $66.55 million.

Beats with soft revenue

A cluster of names beat on EPS while revenue came in light, which was the dominant pattern in the full-text batch. Mondelez earned $0.78 against $0.71 on revenue of $9.97 billion versus $9.98 billion, notable mainly because it had seen 14 negative EPS revisions against one positive over the prior 90 days. Erie Indemnity beat by $0.07 at $3.48 on $1.07 billion against $1.09 billion. Cousins Properties beat by a penny at $0.10 on $259.42 million versus $264.4 million. Bright Horizons beat by $0.04 at $1.80 but guided full-year EPS to $4.98-$5.03 against $5.11 consensus and revenue to $3.07 billion against $3.10 billion, and the stock is down 27.42% over twelve months.

Analyst notes and corporate actions, headline only

The analyst cluster runs both directions: Freedom Broker raised its ServiceNow target on AI growth, upgraded California Water Service on valuation, and cut Boeing on production concerns; Jefferies reiterated Buy on AMD citing data center upside and cut Baxter on valuation; Stifel cut Insmed to $195 on the opex outlook; Raymond James lowered First Financial Bancorp on the EPS outlook. On capital returns and corporate housekeeping, Voya raised its dividend 21% to $0.57, Delek US raised 18% to $0.30, Mohawk launched a $500 million buyback, Glacier Bancorp a $200 million one, Upbound announced a $50 million repurchase intent, and Cohen & Steers, Esquire Financial, Smithfield and Bristow declared dividends. Hormel named John F. Ghingo president and CEO, Monolithic Power named Tony Balow CFO, Cullen/Frost is moving its listing to the Texas Stock Exchange, CubeSmart took a $300 million unsecured term loan to 2031, Walmart committed $6 billion to expand its Symbotic deal, and Merit Medical bought Solo Pace for $45 million.

Commodities, geopolitics and crypto chatter

Headline-only across the board: crude fell on VP Vance outreach to Iran, natural gas fell on an EIA inventory build and warm weather, cocoa stayed weak on rising ICE inventories and possible Brazilian sales, coffee hit a one-month low on Brazilian sales concerns, while sugar rose on reduced Brazilian cane crushing. A DeItaone post reports Kyiv under Russian ballistic missile attack, and another reports $2.77 billion of outflows across five blockchains from Binance wallets amid drain suspicions with no hack confirmed. The remaining TradingView items are retail chart posts on gold, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, bitcoin, XRP and others, with nothing behind them but the headline.
