Visa beats but guides lower

The one piece of real depth in the feed is Visa's fiscal Q4. Adjusted EPS came in at $3.48 against a $3.44 consensus, and net revenue of $12.1 billion, up 13% year over year, matched expectations. The stock still fell 2.3% after hours, to $392.73 from a regular-session high of $403.51, because fiscal 2027 guidance calls for EPS growth in the low double digits to low teens, down from the 16% delivered in fiscal 2026. Payment volume growth also ticked down versus the prior quarter. Baird had flagged before the print that trimmed FY27 estimates could pressure a stock trading above its five-year average multiple; Susquehanna had gone the other way, lifting its target to $480 on Visa's positioning for agentic AI commerce. The board raised the quarterly dividend to $0.780. The article also notes two regulatory items sitting in the background: a potential £5 billion UK interchange lawsuit covering Visa and Mastercard, and lower small-merchant interchange rates that took effect in October 2026. Separately in the feed, headline-only posts quote Visa's CEO calling it "a milestone year" with record net revenue of $46 billion, up 15%.

After-hours earnings reactions

A large cluster of headline-only items covers the post-close tape. On the downside: CoStar down 12% despite topping Q3 estimates, Enphase down more than 10% on weaker-than-expected guidance and results, Seagate down 8% despite an earnings beat, NXP down 8% after reporting revenue of $3.8 billion up 19% year over year, Robinhood down 4% on a double miss, Sensata lower on weak Q4 revenue guidance, Landstar down 3% on a bottom-line miss tied to elevated claim costs, and Teradyne falling despite beating Q3 goals. On the upside: Ultra Clean up 11% on a Q3 beat and upbeat outlook, Manhattan Associates up 11% on an earnings beat, PPG up 7% on a beat-and-raise, and Logitech beating September-quarter views while guiding higher for the holiday period. These are headlines only, so I have the direction and in most cases the stated reason, nothing deeper.

Form 8-K wrapper filings

A long run of Form 8-K items from Investing.com UK carry no article body at all, just the filing notice and the ticker's move: Ultra Clean up 10.21%, Intapp down 8.91%, Senti Biosciences up 6.62%, Sensata up 4.01%, Slide Insurance down 2.37%, Waste Management down 2.16%, Enphase down 2.06%, Zillow Class C down 1.75%, Brightspire up 0.81%, Realty Income down 0.59%, F5 down 0.48%, ONEOK down 0.36%, Envista down 0.34% and STAG down 0.33%. There is nothing in the filings text to explain any of it, and more of the same appear headline-only for Welltower, O-I Glass, Charter, Logitech, Crane, Cooper, Arch Capital and a dozen small banks.

Quarterly misses with figures

Two smaller results were read in full. Renasant posted Q3 EPS of $0.86, eight cents below the $0.94 estimate, with revenue of $272.95 million against a $282.34 million consensus; the stock closed at $41.58, down 4.57% over three months and up 18.73% over twelve. O-I Glass reported a Q3 loss of $0.09 per share versus an expected $0.17 profit, a 26-cent miss, on revenue of $1.62 billion against $1.65 billion expected; shares closed at $6.43, down 46.73% over the past year, and the company had eight negative EPS revisions and no positive ones in the prior 90 days.

Air Canada ahead of results

Air Canada rose 2.0% to C$21.97. The article attributes it to positioning ahead of Q3 results due October 29, a published valuation note calling the stock roughly 7% undervalued at a C$23.09 fair value, and network news including new United Airlines routes, a Montréal-to-Seville service and Air Canada Cargo freighter routes to Panama City, Monterrey and Amsterdam. Scotiabank kept an Outperform rating while trimming its FY2026 EPS forecast; consensus is Moderate Buy with eight of eleven analysts positive and an average target of C$32.73. The TSX rose more than 100 points on base metals strength and Canada-US trade optimism.

Deals, management changes and index backdrop

Deal headlines include EnerSys acquiring Ultralife for $320 million in cash and UMB Financial acquiring El Dorado Savings Bank for $506 million. Langenberg upgraded Boeing on backlog strength, with separate headlines noting Boeing is oversold after a 10.69% drop. People moves run through the feed: Visteon's CFO departing, Eli Lilly reorganising its global operations and its international chief retiring, Elroy Air naming a CFO, and Cardiff Oncology naming an interim CMO. As market backdrop, the quote boxes in the read articles show the S&P 500 at 7,722.67 up 0.60%, the Nasdaq up 1.18%, the Dow up 0.03%, the FTSE 100 down 0.75% with HSBC off 5.42% after a Q3 miss and a $1 billion buyback, Brent around $109.70 and gold futures at $4,073.

The rest is noise

Beyond that, the bulk of the 200 items is filler: TradingView chart posts on gold, bitcoin, Tesla, USD/JPY and various crypto pairs, Nasdaq's automated oversold and moving-average alerts, two items literally titled "Test Funnel", and routine dividend declarations. Nothing there worth your time.
