nVent falls 8.8% despite record quarter

The sharpest single move in the feed came from nVent Electric, which beat on both lines and still dropped 8.81% in regular trading to $125.98, recovering 0.81% after hours to $127. Adjusted EPS was $1.52 against $1.39 expected, revenue $1.5 billion against $1.43 billion, with sales up 44% year over year and EPS up 67%. Adjusted operating margin widened 190 basis points to 22.1%, and the company raised full-year guidance to reported sales growth of 48% to 49% (from 37% to 39%) and adjusted EPS of $5.36 to $5.39 (from $5.00 to $5.10). Electrical Connections grew 54% organically; infrastructure is now about 60% of year-to-date sales versus 12% at spin-off. CEO Beth Wozniak called it "another tremendous quarter with record sales, orders, and earnings." The article does not identify a specific cause for the selloff, offering only that investors may have focused on the pace of future growth, margins or valuation; management did flag Q4 as an investment quarter for the newly acquired Maverick Power, roughly $105 million of tariff impact for the year, and tougher comparisons ahead.

Veralto jumps 6.8% on a large EPS beat

Veralto closed up 6.77% at $111.10 after posting adjusted EPS of $1.18 against a $0.95 forecast, a 24.2% surprise, on revenue of $1.51 billion, up 7.5%. Core sales accelerated to 5.1%, with Water Quality up 6.4% and Product Quality & Innovation up 3.2%. Free cash flow was $304 million, and full-year adjusted EPS guidance went up to $4.49 to $4.52, implying 15% to 16% growth. CEO Jennifer Honeycutt pointed to the recurring-revenue mix (60% in both Water Quality and marking and coding) and said data center growth doubled in Q3 off a small base. The company has spent more than $1.65 billion this year on four bolt-on deals and bought back 2.4% of shares. Flagged risks: Cleanwater1 may be margin dilutive near term, 2026 tariff benefits won't repeat in 2027, and China water infrastructure remains soft.

Teck down 4.9% even as EBITDA doubles

Teck Resources beat with adjusted EPS of $1.88 against $1.49 and revenue of $4.52 billion against $4.26 billion, yet closed down 4.88% at $60.61 and slipped another 1.37% after hours. Adjusted EBITDA doubled to CAD 2.3 billion, margin went from 35% to 51%, and operating cash flow rose 147% to CAD 1.6 billion, helped by higher copper and zinc prices adding just over $1 billion to EBITDA. Copper output rose 11% to 116,000 tonnes, copper unit costs fell 15% to $1.77 a pound, and the company cut 2026 cost guidance for both copper and zinc. There was also an CAD 888 million pre-tax impairment reversal at Trail. Against that: severe weather at Quebrada Blanca and Carmen de Andacollo, a strike that began at Highland Valley Copper on Oct. 24, and the Anglo American merger still awaiting approvals including China's SAMR. The article suggests investors looked past the quarter to those operational and regulatory risks rather than naming a single trigger.

Erie Indemnity up 4.2% on underwriting recovery

Erie Indemnity rose 4.23% to $261.39 (6.09% in after-hours) after EPS of $3.48 beat the $3.41 estimate, though revenue of $1.07 billion fell about $20 million short. Net income was $180 million versus $175 million a year earlier, and the Erie Insurance Exchange combined ratio improved 13 points to 103.9% as catastrophe and non-catastrophe losses eased from a rough 2025. Growth is the soft spot: direct written premium growth slowed to 3.3% from 9.2%, policies in force fell 2%, and average premium per policy rose 6.8%. CFO Julie Pelkowski said growth remains the primary challenge. Management talked up the Erie Secure Auto rollout, an online quoting platform with conversion rates nearly double the old one, and early AI tests in claims subrogation and commercial underwriting.

Howmet, Xcel and Canadian National beats

Three more industrial and utility beats, all with muted or mixed stock reactions. Howmet Aerospace posted adjusted EPS of $1.46 on $2.7 billion revenue (versus $1.37 and $2.59 billion), with revenue up 29%, organic growth of 25% that it called its best ever, EBITDA margin of 32.5% and record free cash flow of $562 million. It raised 2026 guidance to roughly $10.3 billion revenue and $5.50 EPS, guided 2027 revenue growth of about 12%, and CEO John Plant said industrial gas turbine sales could double off the 2025 base within three years rather than three to five, partly on data center power demand. The stock rose 2.06% to $199.22 on the day of the report, though the article's ticker line shows HWM down 3.26%. Xcel Energy earned $1.52 against $1.37 on revenue of $4.17 billion that missed the $4.26 billion forecast, closed up 0.99% at $79.82, narrowed 2026 guidance to $4.10-$4.16, introduced 2027 guidance of $4.48-$4.62, and laid out a $70 billion 2027-2031 capital plan covering 9+ GW of renewables, 3+ GW of gas, 2+ GW of storage, 2,400 miles of high-voltage transmission and about $4 billion for wildfire and resilience. Canadian National beat with adjusted EPS of $2.16 on $4.77 billion, EPS up 18%, operating ratio improved 40 basis points to 61%, and said it's tracking toward the upper end of full-year guidance; the stock barely moved, down 0.3% at $123.69. The common thread across Howmet, Xcel and Veralto is data center power demand showing up in order books well outside the semiconductor names.

European banks and the rest of the full-text set

Erste Group reported record quarterly operating profit of 2.3 billion euros and net profit above 1.1 billion euros for the first time, with a record-low 43.1% cost-income ratio and 23.8% return on tangible equity, but EPS of $1.53 missed the $1.62 forecast; shares still closed up 1.66% at $60.77. It raised fee growth guidance excluding Poland to about 10% and said its tender offer for Erste Bank Polska, where it holds roughly 49%, launches the next business day. Alpha Bank beat modestly ($0.11 versus $0.1009, revenue 635 million euros versus 628.55 million), lifted full-year NII guidance to 1.8 billion euros and revenue guidance to 2.5 billion, posted record 14 million euro asset management fees, and plans a 124 million euro interim dividend in early December; the stock eased 0.44%. Millennium bcp beat on revenue ($1.04 billion versus $1.01 billion), missed EPS by a hair, and raised its 2025-2028 cumulative net income target to 4.75-5.25 billion euros from 4.0-4.5 billion and the distribution target to 4.0-4.5 billion; shares popped after hours then ended down 2.49%. Elsewhere, Murphy USA beat hard (EPS $9.59 versus $8.37, revenue $6.89 billion versus $6.11 billion) on 6% same-store fuel volume growth versus OPIS and flat margins, with CEO Mindy West arguing high pump prices make customers more price-sensitive and favour its model. Sun Pharma beat slightly and rose 0.95%, with India formulations up 17.3% and market share at 8.6%, offset by US generics down 8.2% on lenalidomide erosion; the Organon acquisition is on track to close by early Q4 FY2027.

Headline-only earnings, mostly Asia and utilities

A long tail of results I only have headlines for. On the downside: TFI International's Q3 profit miss reportedly triggered a 17% selloff, Komatsu's shares sank 9.3% despite a sales beat, Cameco missed and fell, SCREEN Holdings fell on strong results, Dixon Technologies fell despite a beat, and Eastman Chemical missed and slipped. On the upside: TMX Group jumped 5.8% on a revenue beat, Amrize topped EPS estimates and rose, Panasonic lifted profit and raised its outlook, and Lite-On posted record profit. Several Asian tech names, Panasonic, TDK and Lite-On, carry AI demand in their headlines as the stated driver of record results. Utilities and infrastructure also reported: Exelon beat and narrowed guidance, Alliant Energy topped EPS, Churchill Downs beat, COPT Defense beat on record DOD spending, Weyerhaeuser showed steady Timberlands against weaker Wood Products, NatWest posted a slight beat but shares slid on a 21.6% ROTE, Eurobank and Unicaja reported profit growth, and Budweiser APAC beat on EPS with China weighing on the outlook. I haven't read any of these beyond the headline.

Macro and geopolitical headlines

Thin and headline-only. Iranian negotiators are in Doha continuing talks to end the US-Iran war, per one report, with Foreign Minister Araqchi quoted as saying negotiations are progressing but have not reached a definitive conclusion. Russian strikes cut power to thousands in Ukraine while drones damaged a Russian facility. BYD extended its sales growth streak on strong exports, with a separate piece noting BYD, Xiaomi and XPeng all reporting strong sales into a year-end push. Saudi Arabia's Tadawul All Share closed down 0.84%. An Investor's Business Daily piece frames the week ahead around elections, jobs data, Iran and earnings.

Noise in the rest of the feed

The bulk of the remaining 200 items is low-signal: roughly sixty TradingView chart posts on gold, Bitcoin, EURUSD, the Nasdaq and similar, a run of Form 4 and Form 144 insider filings (TJX, Array Technologies, Verizon, Aura Minerals, First Financial Bankshares, BillionToOne), Investing.com promotional items for its AI stock picks, and assorted X posts from Musk, Saylor and others. Nothing there carries substance worth pulling out.

  80. It is my Great Honor to endorse Ty Masterson, a fantastic Candidate running to be the next Governor of the Great State of Kansas, a place I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024! Ty will run on the Republican “ticket” with my friend, the Great U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, who, along with many America First Patriots in Kansas, strongly believe in him. A highly successful Small Business Owner and Entrepreneur, and Kansas' very popular State Senate President, Ty has dedicated his life to serving his Community. His opponent, Crazy Cindy Holscher, is the Most Radical Candidate ever to run for Kansas Governor — Even Laura Kelly said Holscher is too extreme! Cindy Holscher supported RAISING your Property Taxes, and stripping Parents of their Parental Rights. She voted for Men in Women's Sports, and Men in Girls' Locker Rooms. She said that Jesus was gay and transgender, and that her role model, as Governor, would be Gavin Newscum, which means Homelessness, Corruption, High Crime, and High Costs! On the other hand, as your next Governor, Ty will work tirelessly to Champion Kansas Values, Promote our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Advance MADE IN THE U.S.A., Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Support our Brave Military, Veterans, and Law Enforcement, Safeguard our Elections, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment. Ty Masterson has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Governor of the Great State of Kansas. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR TY — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! President DONALD J. TRUMP
