Eli Lilly's blowout quarter

The biggest single story in the feed is Eli Lilly. Q3 2026 adjusted EPS came in at $7.48 against consensus of roughly $5.60 to $6.26, on revenue of $24.4 billion, up 39% year over year and about $1.8 billion ahead of estimates. Management raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $91-92 billion from $85-87 billion, versus a Street figure near $88.7 billion. Mounjaro did $10.72 billion and Zepbound $5.35 billion, both above estimates, with the new oral weight-loss pill Foundayo adding $184 million. CEO David Ricks put it down to broad global demand for the two tirzepatide drugs plus a doubling in newer oncology, immunology and neuroscience products. The night before, Lilly released Phase 3 TRANSCEND-T2D-2 data showing retatrutide delivered more than double the weight loss of Novo Nordisk's highest approved Ozempic dose in type 2 diabetics, which had already lifted the shares after hours. The stock was up 4.5% pre-open at $1,346.50, above its prior 52-week high of $1,321.21, against a soft tape. Barclays recently went to a $1,400 target; RBC and Morgan Stanley hold Overweight-equivalent ratings. A separate Investor's Business Daily headline covers the same beat-and-raise.

Carrier beat but sold off hard

Carrier Global is the mirror image. Adjusted EPS of $0.87 on $6.26 billion of revenue beat forecasts of $0.77 and $6.10 billion, organic sales grew 15%, adjusted operating profit about 35%, and margin expanded 260 basis points. Data center orders rose 300% in the quarter, with year-to-date data center orders above $3 billion and segment sales over $550 million. Even so the stock was indicated down 7.89% premarket at $51.83, near its 52-week low of $50.24. The reason given: Carrier raised its full-year sales outlook to nearly $24 billion but left adjusted EPS guidance unchanged at $2.85-2.90, cut the CSA segment margin outlook to roughly 19%, and flagged residential pricing realization coming in below plan. Year-to-date input cost headwinds run about $800 million, slightly under half tariff-related, with $550-600 million of that unexpected. CEO David Gitlin conceded the company was "chasing pricing a little bit" this year and has announced increases up to 10% across CSA, including 8% on residential late in Q4. A companion slides item covers the same quarter.

Textron and West Pharmaceutical raised guidance

Two clear beat-and-raise industrials. Textron earned $1.76 adjusted on $3.8 billion against $1.43 and $3.77 billion expected, lifted full-year EPS guidance to $6.55-6.65 and manufacturing cash flow to $800-900 million, mostly on roughly $100 million less capex. Aviation revenue rose 14% to $1.7 billion with the highest order bookings in nearly three years, Systems rose 16%, but Bell fell 9% to $933 million and the MV-75 low-rate production award has slipped into 2027, widening the expected charge range to $110-150 million from $60-110 million. Shares were up 4.72% at $82.02 premarket. West Pharmaceutical posted $2.66 adjusted EPS on $874.5 million, versus $2.20 and $827.1 million, with gross margin up 310 basis points to 39.7%. HVP Components grew 20% organically to $467 million on GLP-1 and biologics demand plus containment-rule upgrade projects, and Asia Pacific revenue rose 42%. Full-year guidance went to $3.41-3.42 billion of revenue and $9.38-9.48 EPS. The stock was up 4.8% at $423 premarket, just above its prior 52-week high.

Smaller beats with mixed reactions

Garrett Motion beat on profit, $0.51 against $0.47, and missed slightly on revenue at $930 million versus $940.71 million. Adjusted EBIT margin rose 160 basis points to 16.3%, free cash flow was $136 million, and commercial vehicle and industrial sales grew 23% organically. It lifted its 2027 industrial sales outlook to roughly $300 million, mostly genset power generation, and approved a new $250 million buyback. Shares were up 4.69% at $23.377. Silgan earned $1.31 against $1.25 but revenue of $2.04 billion missed the $2.10 billion estimate; it raised full-year EPS guidance to $3.83-3.93 and reaffirmed about $450 million of free cash flow, helped by fragrance and beauty, prescription pharma dispensing and wet pet food, with soup demand weaker than expected. Stock up 4.35% at $39.58. Proto Labs beat on both lines, $0.63 on $154.3 million of record revenue, and raised full-year growth guidance to 10-11%, but fell 3.2% premarket to $88 as gross margin slipped 140 basis points to 44.5% on raw material costs and machine upgrades, and Q4 EPS guidance of $0.46-0.54 sits below Q3. AXIS Capital missed on EPS at $2.75 versus $2.85 despite revenue of $1.79 billion beating $1.69 billion; the combined ratio widened to 94.0% from 89.4% on $75 million of catastrophe and war losses against $44 million a year ago, and shares fell 4.54% to $97.

Filler 8-K items with no content

Six of the full-text reads turned out to be empty Form 8-K stubs from Investing.com, for Catalyst Bancorp, Sidus Space, 374Water, bioAffinity, InterDigital and Azitra. The pages contain no filing detail at all beyond the ticker and a tick in the article header, so there is nothing to report from them.

Headline-only earnings and macro

The bulk of the remaining 180-odd items are headlines. On earnings, Cognizant is reported down 10% premarket on a weak Q4 outlook, Fortinet is referenced after a 25% post-earnings selloff, ServiceNow fell after its print, Bristol Myers slipped on short Opdivo sales and a cut to earnings guidance, and Norwegian Cruise Line is described as soaring on a beat-and-raise. Alphabet gets two angles: a headline that shares tumbled 10% as a search slowdown overshadowed cloud strength, and a TradingView piece asking why the stock is selling off despite AI growth. Others reporting include Hippo (beat, raised guidance), Bunge, LKQ, Everest Group, Ranpak, Axalta, CRH, Cimpress, T. Rowe Price, Republic Airways, Coastal Financial, Pitney Bowes, NovoCure, Cogeco and a batch of Indian names. On macro, US initial jobless claims came in at 194K, described as beating expectations and near 57-year lows, and Q3 GDP growth is reported as accelerating and above forecasts. A widely-quoted post has the euro falling 0.4% to $1.11095, its lowest since May 2025.

Analyst notes and corporate actions

There is a visible Stephens cluster: target raises on Regional Management, Prosperity Bancshares, First Interstate BancSystem and Kirby, a cut on PROG Holdings over leasing concerns, and a C.H. Robinson target lowered to $190 on claims costs. Elsewhere Needham raised Q2 Holdings to $85, Argus upgraded Biogen on rare disease strength, Truist reiterated Buy on Clean Harbors with a $365 target, and Deutsche Bank initiated positively on TK Accelis. On deals and capital, Thrive Holdings is reported acquiring ADT for $7.6 billion in cash, Ambev approved a buyback of up to 190 million common shares, FTAI Aviation announced a $500 million accelerated repurchase, Freedom Holding's subsidiary entered a $1.16 billion bond investment agreement, BioMarin licensed a Fabry disease therapy for $70 million upfront, Eightco sold its OpenAI stake at a 40% gain, and Kalshi is reported at a $40 billion valuation after a $1 billion round co-led by Wellington and Sequoia. UBS reported 3Q26 net profit of 2.7 billion.

Geopolitics, commodities and chart posts

A sizeable tail of the feed is technical-analysis posts on TradingView covering gold, bitcoin, EURUSD, USDJPY, the Nikkei, Hang Seng, DAX and various crypto pairs, none of which carry reported news. On the geopolitical side, headlines reference an Iran war adding $11 billion a month to the EU's oil import bill, Air France suspending Riyadh flights to December 12 and Dubai flights to November 7, and a Kremlin aide warning that Ukrainian attacks during November 4 celebrations could affect Russia's stance on trilateral talks. Javier Blas notes US retail gasoline prices are down more than 5% over the past month even as oil has risen. One further item says Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has been caught up in a reported Chinese spy probe as AI stocks slide.
