Risk-off session led by the AI complex

The backdrop to almost everything in this feed is a sharp risk-off day in US tech. Market data carried in the Investing.com pieces shows the Nasdaq down roughly 2.1-2.2% to about 26,140, the S&P 500 off 1.1-1.25%, the Dow down 0.34%, and the VIX up 22-30% to around 20-21. The site's own headlines frame it as the Nasdaq's worst week in over 18 months, with the AI trade the stated culprit. The damage was concentrated: CoreWeave down 11.9%, Nebius down 12.2%, Super Micro down 9.9%, MicroStrategy down 9.6%, Palo Alto down 7.7%, Rocket Lab down 8%, Micron down 5.6%, Meta down 3.7%. Energy and defense went the other way, with Diamondback, EOG, APA, Kinder Morgan and Targa all up around 4%, and Northrop up 4.1%, RTX 3.7%. The FTSE 100 closed up 0.38% at 10,881.90 for a second weekly gain, led by defense names, and the DAX rose 0.94%.

A long list of 52-week lows

Much of the full-text material is Investing.com's automated 52-week-low coverage, and the names cluster in exactly the parts of the market that got hit. Pony AI hit $4.93, down 78% from its $22.46 high and 74% over a year, with 14.4% of that drop coming in the past week alone; the piece notes Q2 revenue of $36.2m, up 69% and ahead of the $35.2m consensus, robotaxi fare revenue up 849% year on year, continued losses, BofA cutting its target to $17 from $19 while keeping Buy, and Jefferies at $32.80. JetBlue touched $2.98, down nearly 18% in a week and 43% over six months; the article cites its raised Q3 RASM guidance of 17-20% growth against a prior 12.5-16.5%, but non-fuel CASM up 6-8%, and Susquehanna cutting targets across Delta, United and American on higher fuel costs through 2027. Infleqtion hit $8.51, down 59% over a year, with a "WEAK" financial health score despite Q2 revenue of $12.6m (up 116%) and full-year guidance raised to about $43m. Mesoblast fell to $13.03, 39% below its high, after $115m of FY26 revenue in its first full commercial year with Ryoncil. Rivian hit $12.39, down 34% year to date, with the piece noting Q3 deliveries of 19,248 and production of 19,751, both ahead of consensus. Vistance Networks hit $5.84 against a $20.55 high, with earnings due in 13 days. Apollo touched $25, though the article points out a positive 1-year total return of 2.56%, a 7.55% dividend yield and a $66bn market cap. AGNC and American Financial Group also appear as a low and a high respectively, headline-only.

Rock Tech Lithium, from two angles

Rock Tech Lithium rose 5.1% to C$0.62, off a C$0.54 52-week low. The full article says there was no fresh company news that day and attributes the move to a technical rebound plus two earlier items: preliminary Definitive Feasibility Study results on October 7 for the Red Rock Converter in Ontario, showing capital costs of about C$596m for roughly 30,000 tonnes a year of lithium salts, with CEO Mirco Wojnarowicz calling it an important decision-making milestone, and a C$6m private placement closed October 9 for Georgia Lake, Red Rock and working capital. Final DFS results are due December 2026. Worth noting alongside it, a headline-only item says Rheinmetall has taken a stake in Rock Tech Lithium and a German plant, which the feature article does not mention.

Insider filings and Form 4 noise

A large share of the feed is routine SEC filing coverage with no market content. Three German American Bancorp directors bought through the dividend reinvestment and stock purchase plan at $49.6635 on October 15: Zachary Bawel 344.3173 shares for $17,100, Christina Ryan 2.0136 shares for $100, and Andrew Seger for $100 (headline only). These are elections to take director compensation in stock, not discretionary open-market buys. The stock trades at $50.05, up 29% year to date, with a 2.5% yield and 13 straight years of dividend increases. Elsewhere, Aquestive Therapeutics' CEO sold $105,600, a Kaltura officer sold $15,220, and MDB Capital's co-founder bought $1,769. The Form 4 items for Disney, Ford, Amazon, AMD, Marvell and various ETFs carry no detail beyond the filing itself.

Corporate and policy headlines, unread

Several headline-only items are worth knowing exist. SoftBank is reported to be weighing a $30bn deal for Allied Universal. Anduril says it may produce new Steelfin missiles, or interceptors, in Europe. The US fiscal 2026 budget deficit came in at $1.99 trillion, the largest in five years, though a separate headline says the federal deficit narrowed more than expected. The European Commission plans to propose further import curbs on Chinese sectors. Novartis ended a mid-stage trial of Fabhalta in lupus nephritis. The FAA is set to approve the 737 MAX 10 as soon as next week, and separately banned unauthorized drones along the US-Mexico border. A US appeals court blocked class actions over Tesla's self-driving claims. Snowflake and Okta both have "why is the stock tumbling" pieces, as do the semiconductor ETFs, QQQ, SPY and the Russell 2000 ETF, all consistent with the broad selloff. Anthropic says Claude solved a 25-year cryptography problem in 30 minutes. California reported nearly 12,000 EV purchases under its new rebate program.

Commodities and the rest

Oil is high and moving: WTI around $101.3-101.6 and Brent near $109.5, with intraday prints showing WTI up 3.4% at one point. Gold futures sat near $4,186-4,189, silver around $57.14, copper $6.56. Javier Blas posted that Dated Brent plunged about $10 a barrel and that North Sea physical premia saw one of the largest one-day drops on record, which sits oddly against the futures strength and is only a headline. US 10-year yields were about 5.08%, the 10-2 spread widened 15% to 31bp. Agricultural headlines are routine: wheat and sugar lower, corn soft, cotton and hogs higher, cocoa retreating on weaker North American demand. The remaining bulk of the 200 items is TradingView chart posts and social media noise, which carry no verifiable content.
