Three biotech movers carry the feed

The only items in this section with real content behind them are three Investing.com explainers on biotech names that jumped today, and they are worth the read. Genmab's ADR rose 11.7% to $38.80, hitting a 52-week high of $40.17 intraday, after it and partner AbbVie reported topline Phase 3 results from EPCORE DLBCL-2, testing epcoritamab (EPKINLY) with standard R-CHOP in newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients with higher-risk IPI scores of 2 to 5. The trial showed a 51% reduction in the risk of progression or death versus R-CHOP alone, hazard ratio 0.49, p below 0.0001, which the article calls the first Phase 3 win for a bispecific antibody combination in frontline DLBCL. The companies said they will talk to regulators about next steps. Alongside that, Guggenheim lifted its target to $54 from $45 with a Buy rating and named it a top pick, citing roughly $8 billion of potential incremental near-term sales from the late-stage pipeline, and Leerink started coverage at Outperform with a $50 target. Weekend Rina-S Phase 2 data at IGCS showed a 46% complete objective response rate in platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.

Novavax and Emergent

Novavax rose 15.9% to $12.12, a fresh 52-week high with an intraday peak of $12.57, after partners Sanofi and Takeda secured approvals for the XFG-adapted Nuvaxovid formulation in the US, EU and Japan ahead of the 2026-27 season. The piece frames this as confirmation of a capital-light royalty model, since Novavax collects tiered royalties without carrying commercialisation costs, and notes the Q2 2026 beat on both lines plus a raised full-year revenue range of $235m to $275m, with the stock up about 56% year to date. Emergent BioSolutions went further, up 19.6% to $7.57, on a very different trigger: a suspected pneumonic plague death at Russia's Irkutsk Anti-Plague Research Institute, with Marco Rubio and the State Department saying they are monitoring it and coordinating with the CDC. Russian authorities called it pneumonia of unknown aetiology and denied a lab accident, but 197 possible contacts were placed under observation. Underneath the headline, Emergent reported adjusted EPS of $0.60 against a forecast $0.08 loss on revenue of $234.3m versus $177.5m expected, H1 revenue of $390m, and gross debt cut to $515m. Consensus is Hold with an average $10 target, and the stock was down about 49% year to date before this session.

Defence contracts cluster

Four headline-only items point the same way on defence spending: Anduril won a $1.8bn US Army contract to scale a next-generation command platform, Boeing received a Lockheed PAC-3 MSE award worth up to $14.7bn for missile seekers, Telos gained on a $13.5m Air Force cyber services contract, and Moody's moved BWX Technologies to a positive outlook citing the naval posture. Only the headlines are available on each, so there's no detail beyond that.

Market backdrop on the page

The site furniture on these pages shows the session: S&P 500 7,777.31, up 0.71%, Nasdaq up 1.05% at 27,477.31, Dow up 0.18%, Nikkei up 2.40%, FTSE 100 up 0.34%. Yields were the counterweight, with the US 10-year at 5.313% and the 30-year at 5.666%. Brent sat just above $100 and gold futures at $4,165. Investing.com's own headline framing was that US stocks are near record levels while traders brush off the bond rout, and that the FTSE rose as metals lifted miners while weak US jobs data cut Fed bets.

Headline-only odds and ends

A CFTC proposal for a federal framework for crypto exchanges appears twice. Meta and Microsoft are reported, via The Information, to be scaling back internal use of Anthropic's Claude, with Meta's Claude seats said to be down to 30,000 from 60,000 and Microsoft cutting internal Claude spending by over a third. Elsewhere, Goldman expects AI investment to add to European growth in 2026, Oppenheimer flagged power technology names for selective trading, and there are single-line items on Pennsylvania measles cases reaching 1,004, muni borrowers delaying roughly $6bn of refinancings as 30-year muni yields hit 5.26%, and Bessent claiming Iran loaded zero crude onto tankers last month.

The rest is filler

The bulk of this section is machine-generated noise. A dozen of the twenty full-text reads were Form 4 insider filing notices for Andersons, Donaldson, Blackstone, CrowdStrike, Rambus, Brady, Amazon, Southern, Honeywell, Franklin Templeton, Procter & Gamble and Trex, and every one of them contains nothing beyond the filing title and the site's standard price tables. Beyond that there are roughly a hundred TradingView chart posts, Truth Social and X reposts, and agricultural price blurbs with no substance to summarise.
